Meet Billy Greer

devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong teacher.

About Billy

Billy is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong teacher.

Alongside his wife Nancy, he co-owns the Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi, a place built not just for training, but for growth, discipline, and long-term health.

For Billy, martial arts isn’t a hobby.

A Lifetime in Martial Arts

Billy’s journey began in 1973 through combat sports.

Just one year later, he stepped into his first teaching role, a path he’s never left.

Decades later, that same commitment still drives him.

Show up. Train. Teach. Repeat.

Not for recognition.

Rare Lineage. Real Responsibility.

Billy holds a distinction very few martial artists ever reach.

He has been formally accepted as a disciple, and inheritor, within two separate, highly respected lineages.

He is:

  • An Indoor Disciple of Grandmaster Willy Lin, who introduced Tian Shan Pai Gong Fu to the United States
  • An In-Chamber Disciple of Grandmaster Chen ZhengLei, a direct descendant of the founder of Chen Style TaiJi, the oldest known form of Tai Chi

These titles aren’t honorary.

They represent trust, responsibility, and a direct connection to generations of knowledge passed down with precision and care.

Built on What Works

Billy doesn’t teach theory.

Both of his teachers maintained exceptional strength, mobility, and vitality well into their 70s and 80s.

It’s also the foundation behind everything Billy teaches today.

More Than Martial Arts

At Jing Ying, the goal isn’t just to learn techniques.

It’s to build:

  • Strength that lasts
  • Discipline that carries into everyday life
  • A body and mind that stay sharp as you age

Billy’s approach is simple, meet people where they are, and help them become stronger, more capable, and more confident over time.

No shortcuts. No gimmicks.
